Common Questions
Why can’t the app see my videos?
Video Randomiser only works with folders you explicitly choose. Click Choose folders and grant access to a folder that contains supported video files.
Which file types are supported?
The app supports the file extensions configured in Settings. You can edit the list there if needed.
Why are some files skipped?
Depending on your settings, the app may skip watched items, files from folders that are currently unavailable, or files outside your selected extensions. You can always go into settings and uncheck ‘Exclude Watched’.
Why does the app ask for folder access?
macOS requires your permission before a sandboxed app can read files in folders you choose. Video Randomiser uses that permission only to scan and open your local videos.
Can I reset watched history?
Yes. Open Settings and use Clear watched history.
Does the app upload my files?
No. Video Randomiser is designed for local file access on your Mac.
Troubleshooting
Try these steps first:
1. Confirm the folder still exists and is accessible.
2. Run Rescan or Full Rescan.
3. Check your supported extensions in Settings.
4. Re-add the folder if macOS permission access was lost.
5. Restart the app.
